Direction 2 Work Graduation June 08

The 24th June 2008 saw 11 Street League participants graduate from the Directions to Work programme in Glasgow. Participants attended a range of courses from April- June and gained certification in the following:  S.F.A. Football Coaching Level 1 and 2 on the Children’s and Youth license, Appointed Persons First Aid, and of course the Community Sports Leaders Award Level 2.

The graduation consisted of a meal at the Sports café where individual and group rewards were given including Street league tracksuits and Vouchers for sports equipment , a pool tournament and not forgetting the presentation of their certificates at the famous Hampden steps where footballs elite, such as Zidane, Roberto Carlos, Freddi Kanoute, and not forgetting many captains from Celtic, Rangers and other scottish clubs, have made the journey up the steps to hold aloft national and European trophies.

It was a great day and all in attendance agreed it was the perfect way to end a great few months in which all individuals took away some personal success, great memories and had the chance to build a platform for their future.
