Addaction and Street League's GRAND Tournament!

Glasgow’s Getting Real about Alcohol 'N' Drugs (GRAND) Week took place from Saturday 13th to Friday 19th September 2008. Glasgow GRAND week is organised and co-ordinated by the Communities Sub-group and brings together a broad range of partners to:
- Raise awareness and increase knowledge of alcohol and drugs issues and services
- Get communities involved in tackling alcohol and drugs
- Build partnerships and networks between communities, services and organizations.
In The North the GRAND theme was “Positive Change” away from alcohol and drug use. Ways of improving overall health, mental and physical, were promoted to show the effect they can have no matter how small the change.
Addaction hosted a Football Tournament on Thursday 18th September from 12 noon – 4pm at Petershill Complex and asked Street League to manage the event and promote the health benefits of getting involved with Street League.
The event was a great success with 17 teams entering from all around Glasgow and beyond with a close final between Phoenix Green and Jericho, Phoenix won in the end. The second Cup was lifted by Glasgow North Regeneration Agency Team.
