"Before Street League I wasn't doing much. I was involved in a lot of negative things, and was unemployed. I was not heading in the right direction in life. I hate to admit it but I was a bum." Courtney heard about Street League through a friend who told him about the football training sessions near where he stayed in London at the time, and they encouraged him to come along. "I met Street League coaches Riz and Sam and thought they were genuine people." Courtney progressed through Street League's 8-week Academy Programme gaining his OCN and CSLA qualifications and was supported into full-time employment with an insurance company.
