Graham Carter, 25

"I hated myself, I hated the world, and was constantly self-destructing to the point where I was on the brink of being sent to prison for life. I felt that I'd come so far down the line that everyone had given up on me."

His Story

"I hated myself, I hated the world and was constantly self-destructing to the point where I was on the brink of being sent to prison for life. I felt that I'd come so far down the line that everyone had given up on me"

Graham attended Street League sessions regularly and began to notice that his health and fitness was improving. It was this that enabled him to come off a drink and drugs habit — and from here he began to think about his future and what he wanted to do with his life. Graham now volunteers as a Mentor for young offenders.

"When I went to the Street League session Matty — the coach — told me that the slate was wiped clean. He didn't care what I'd done in the past; it was what I did from now on that mattered to him. He gave me what I needed — a chance to start again."
