Phoenix House clinch Super Cup

Phoenix House won the Glasgow Super Cup this December at the famous Kelvin Hall Arena. The event was greatly anticipated by all and lived up to expectation with some impressive football on display. Both semi finals went to penalties and with only a single goal being scored in the final it proved to be a tense finish.

Old Firm legends Davie Hay and Bobby Russell were in attendance to hand out medals and trophies, and Street League’s outreach area was a hit with participants browsing the information stalls and engaging with staff from the Metropolitan college, Phoenix Futures, The Sandyford Clinic, the Princes Trust and Careers Scotland.  Participants also had a great time in the indoor Club Golf zone.

Very special thanks to Ian McKnight from Glasgow City Council and Simon Donnelly of Partick Thistle, who spent time during the event with participants.  The tournament was a fantastic end to 2007, however  with the new Street League season starting on the 25th of January players and managers do not need to wait long before getting back into the action.
