Taurean is an unemployed father of two who grew up in one of the toughest parts of London. There were several gangs on the estate in Stockwell where he lived but Taurean stayed out of trouble and used football to help him do this.

Taurean came through the ranks at Crystal Palace Football Club and was signed onto a professional contract. However, after two years he suffered the disappointment of being released, which is when he began attending Street League’s street football sessions.

Taurean was confident, lively and made everyone laugh, and he became one of the most reliable participants. He was chosen as team captain and was also excellent off the pitch, working hard in the classroom by taking extra notes.

However, the week before graduation his youngest child of only six months fell critically ill with a heart condition. His son had to have surgery and Taurean could not attend the Academy as he was by his son’s bedside. Despite this, Taurean still managed to catch up on work and graduate from the Academy. Taurean worked hard applying for jobs and work experience opportunities, and after impressing on a work placement TM Lewin he was offered a full-time role.
