Jamie joined the Street League Academy after attending several Street Football sessions where he spoke to staff about what the Academy programme would be like. Although out of work at the time, it was clear that with some guidance Jamie was ready to progress into employment. During one-to-one sessions with Street League staff Jamie talked about how he had underachieved at school and wasn’t sure how he would get a job without qualifications.

Jamie showed natural leadership skills and a great sense of responsibility. He achieved all three of his qualifications on the Academy and impressed staff with his coaching abilities.

Jamie was one of two young people on the Academy who were interviewed for the position of Youth and Community Coach Assistant at Street League.

Jamie had clearly prepared for the interview and Street League were delighted to offer him the job. Jamie is now working as part of the coaching team on the South-East Edinburgh programme, and has continued his education in coaching by successfully achieving the SFA Coaching Young Footballers qualification.
