John, 21, from Inverclyde, had been let go from his previous role a year ago as a vegetable delivery assistant due to lack of hours. John struggled to secure further employment and this lead to John getting into a bad routine. John applied for numerous jobs and heard nothing back which started to affect his confidence due to lack of responses.

John came to Street League in January 2017 after hearing about the course from friends who had previously completed the academy. John joined the ESF programme. Initially, John struggled to get into a routine for the academy and continually turned up late however after setting goals and aims john started to get up earlier to attend. John was supported in building his employability skills and confidence for interviews. John was invited along for an interview with Buchanan's and took part in tailored interview preparation for the interview which helped John feel more prepared and confident for the interview. John was successfully offered the role and was very happy to be getting back into work.

John has started his new role at Buchanan's as a warehouse assistant and is enjoying it. John is pleased to be back into work and be able to plan a summer holiday.
