Rob joined Street League’s Academy in Middlesbrough after hearing about the programme through his local Job Centre. He was polite, showed maturity and motivation, and Street League staff were impressed with Rob’s attitude towards taking the next step.

Rob was a central figure amongst his peers at the Academy, and excelled in all aspects of the Community Sports Leadership Award where he showing natural sporting ability and confidence in delivering sessions. As such, Rob was chosen as one of six participants to represent Street League and the UK at the FIFA Football For Hope Festival in Rio.

Rob’s attitude never changed after hearing the great news, and he continued to work hard in all aspects of the Academy programme. Rob managed to secure an interview with a travel company and was over the moon when he was offered a job working as a holiday rep in the South of France.
