Street League staff make a real impression on Daniel - Manchester Prior to joining Street League Daniel was a full time carer for his mother but felt his life lacked any ambition or structure. Daniel tried looking for work but found it hard to find anything suitable and his confidence and motivation took a severe knock back. Daniel first found out about Street League through his local Job Centre and decided to join the Academy programme after attending an initial open day. Whilst on the Academy, Daniel showed a real passion for football coaching and successfully completed his FA Level 1 Coaching Certificate and Community Sports Leadership Award Level 2. Daniel also completed a one week work placement with the community football club FC United of Manchester. Speaking about the Academy, Daniel said: “I would recommend Street League to anyone. The balance between qualifications and football activity on the Academy is just right. “The staff members are easy to get on with and you get the feeling that they genuinely care about helping you find a job. The staff dedicate their time and effort into you, and even after the programme finishes they continue to offer support and make you aware of any job opportunities. The extra support they offer really does make a difference.” After finishing the Academy Daniel successfully gained employment as a sports coach with a local sports and leisure organisation.
