Tolu lands Premier role after year of unemployment - London 2014 Tolu studied for his A Levels at Richmond on Thames College but decided to take a gap year before going on to university. Tolu worked for six months in a youth hostel, however, after finishing his contract he struggled to find work. Claiming Job Seekers Allowance for over a year, Tolu was referred to Street League’s South West London Academy programme. Tolu’s main focus on the Academy was to gain the skills and knowledge to help him in his search for employment. He embraced the learning both within the classroom and on the pitch. During the Academy Tolu applied for a two week work placement with Premier Inn. The application process consisted of an initial interview, numeracy and literacy assessment and a two week trial. After a successful application process he was offered a two week placement which covered every department within Premier Inn, ranging from house keeping to reception. Having impressed during his work placement, Tolu was delighted to be offered part-time employment. Tolu also applied for a place at university and was offered an unconditional offer to study Access to HE Diploma (Design) at the University of the Arts, London.
