William bounces back with bar job - Edinburgh William first engaged with Street League during a youth unemployment event hosted by Skills Development Scotland and Job Centre Plus. He attended Street Football for two sessions and was soon invited to join the Academy programme. During the initial weeks of the programme, William was very open about many aspects of his life - from how he handled personal relationships, to his approach to certain matters. Despite starting off as a strong and vocal member of the group, William's confidence quickly spiralled downwards following a personal loss and unsuccessful job interviews and applications. His attendance on the Academy reduced dramatically but, during this period, Street League staff maintained contact with William and supported him in his return to the programme. Since coming back, William has participated in one week of work experience with Active Schools and successfully gained employment as an Assistant Bar Manager.
