This January each Street League region across the UK organised a fantastic event to raise funds to help us continue our vital work with young people facing unemployment.

Street League staff showed their creative flair and willingness for a challenge as they took on a huge range of events, from mountain climbing to singing! Teams chose their event and with the support of local companies and partners, who donated bikes, raffle prizes, and skills, all had a great time fundraising.

Check out some of their great ideas for fundraising inspiration:

Team Dunbartonshire used the imaginations of the academy's young people to think up their great fundraising idea. The staff and young people held a fitness challenge, splitting participants into teams and competing against the clock to complete the most activities in a minute. A tough challenge particularly for that burpee round! The great fitness challenge raised £30!

Team London created their own 10k running event, with a football, dance or fitness-based challenge at each London landmark on the route, ending with a full Macarena dance outside Buckingham Palace!

The Queen was delighted, and the team raised over £900!

Street League Manchester
raised funds by holding a raffle and bake sale. Young people from our Manchester academy got involved by asking local businesses for donations and selling raffle tickets on the day, which was a great confidence-building activity while raising awareness of Street League and the support we give to young people looking to get into work or education. Team Manchester had some great prizes donated and raised £140!

Team Renfrewshire chose to take challenge their pain barriers with their event: Shock Football! Staff was connected to electrodes as they played football, and eager supporters could donate to shock a player of their choice! A very creative fundraiser and over £100 raised for Street League!

The London Office Team held a smoothie sale to kick-start people's day. Each person who purchased a smoothie was also entered into a paper-airplane competition, with the furthest flight earning the winner a bottle of champagne! It was a tight competition and helped raise over £150!

Team Sheffield and Leeds paired up for a tough 48-mile cycle and 8mile walk ending in Bradford where they made an exciting announcement about our new job hub opening soon. A grueling off-road challenge with great support from Russell's Bike Shed who kindly provided the bikes. The team raised an incredible £1,000 to support Street League's work!

Our Lanarkshire Team secured amazing donated prizes for their 'winter warmer' raffle, including Costa and Nandos vouchers. After lots of interest, the raffle raised £200 and one lucky supporter won a great boost to their new year!

Team Birmingham aimed high and, equipped against the January weather, hiked Mount Snowdon! The team of trekking novices was motivated to the top by the incredible support they received from local companies and schools, as well as friends and family.

Team Birmingham were the top fundraisers of the challenge, raising a mind-blowing £1,900! Well done Team!
