Jack Thompson is a Youth and Community Coach at Street League’s London Academy. He is taking on 26.2 tough miles at the 2018 London Marathon to raise funds for Street League.

Jack says:

Each day, I work with young people who are looking to progress into employment, education, or further training. My role as a Youth and Community Coach allows me to see at first-hand the amazing impact sport can have on a young person’s life.
Often the young people we work with have not had the best start in life and are low in confidence and motivation. At Street League, we get them playing sport and help them work out what they want to do in the future. Through coaching the sports sessions, I see clear improvements in a young person’s essential skills, such as confidence, communication and resilience, and, by the end of their time with Street League, the vast majority of young people are motivated, confident and ready for work.

Jack will be taking on his first marathon in April to help Street League continue their vital work across the UK. Every penny he raises will contribute to helping a young person aged 16-24 progress into employment, education or training. £20 buys a young person a sports kit, and £100 pays for an academy venue for a week to enable us to deliver our employability programmes.
