Street League have been celebrating another fantastic season of support from Soccer AM.

Graduates from one of the charity’s London Academies attended the popular Sky TV programme’s last show of the 2014-15 season, and were presented with a donation for almost £4000 by presenters Max Rushden and Helen Chamberlain.

The money was raised by Soccer AM viewers buying t-shirts in support of the charity, which provides a unique football and education Academy to help young unemployed people get into work and training. Soccer AM, who have been supporting Street League since 2012, also teamed up with Basingstoke Town FC to stage a fundraising game for the charity.

Here’s how Soccer AM supported Street League during the 2014/15 season:

Soccer AM paid a visit to our Ayrshire Academy in October to meet staff and participants on the programme. They filmed one of their famous ‘Crossbar Challenges’ especially for Street League and, in a twist, focused on the job outcomes each young person was seeking. Click here to watch.

A charity match between a Soccer AM XI and a Basingstoke Town XI at the club’s Soccer AM Stadium featuring the likes of Joe Weller, Ramon Vega, Angelos Epithemiou and Ralf Little was a huge success with almost 1500 fans turning up. Click here to watch

Presenter Max Rushden and former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan visited Street League in Leeds to celebrate the Academy graduation. Click here to watch.

On the final show of the season, a cheque for £3825.28 was presented, with the Street League graduates getting to meet other guests such as former Hull and Wigan midfielder Jimmy Bullard, actor and stand-up comedian Omid Djalili and AFC Wimbledon striker Adebayo Akinfenwa.

Presenter Max Rushden, a Street League ambassador since 2013, has been a big supporter of the charity's work in getting unemployed young people aged 16 to 24 to acquire key employability skills, such as goal-setting, teamwork and communication, and undergo mock interview and CV-writing sessions with volunteer staff from companies which support Street League.

Everyone at Street League wishes to thank Soccer AM for their brilliant support!
