Allan Garratt has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Street League England.

Allan, who will officially take up his new post with the charity in early December, is an experienced leader who has worked in several sectors. These include welfare, training and skills over the past five years and previously in retail.

Allan is experienced in managing multiple contracts and large teams, and has worked successfully on Government contracts such as the Work Programme and skills support in both the West Midlands and the North-West regions. He has worked with the Department of Work and Pensions, Skills Funding Agency, local councils and many SMEs (small and medium enterprises).

He said: “I am excited about the opportunity to strengthen and expand Street League’s footprint in England. I am committed to developing the model and passionate about making a difference to more young people.”

Matt Stevenson-Dodd, Chief Executive of the charity which uses sport to engage with young people facing socio-economic barriers to work, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Allan to Street League. He has a track record of delivering contracted outcomes with his teams and a strategic and driven approach to team-building and business development.

“We had 186 applicants for this role, and Allan’s experience in managing large and geographically-dispersed teams to deliver Public Sector contracts made him the ideal candidate for the role.”

Allan succeeds Paul Evans in the role of Managing Director for England. Paul is taking up a new role at Street League as Director of Organisational Development and Performance.
