Street League has done Danielle the world of good - Liverpool Prior to joining the Street League Academy in Liverpool, Danielle admitted that she lacked focus and was not sure what she wanted to do. Halfway through completing an apprenticeship in hairdressing, she realised it was not the career for her and decided to join Street League after a year of job seeking. Street League helped Danielle consider her career goals, and found that she had a passion for sports and also played for a women’s football team in her spare time. During the Academy programme, Danielle showed she was a natural leader and showed excellent communications skills whilst delivering sessions as part of her Community Sports Leadership Award. As such, Danielle applied for a Sports Coaching Apprenticeship with JM Education, but due to not having enough coaching experience and struggling with the necessary maths and English levels, she was unfortunately unsuccessful. Undeterred, Danielle applied for short-term jobs whilst continuing to build on her experience in sports coaching, and within a matter of months she got her break. With a new traineeship on offer, the director of JM Education got in touch with Street league and asked specifically about Danielle who he had remembered from her original interview. Danielle jumped at the chance of this second opportunity, and having impressed the panel with her commitment and application to the role, she was successful in getting a place on the traineeship. Danielle hit the ground running, and is now working towards her full level 3 advanced apprenticeship in Sports Development.
