Trusts, Foundations and Lotteries

Street League receive 18% of our income from Trusts, Foundations and Lotteries. Trusts have been essential in allowing Street League to make step changes organisationally. Funding from these sources were essential in enabling us to expand geographically (Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool and Nottingham all exist due to seed funding from Trusts), continue running in areas where public sector funding was cut and have enabled us to try out new roles such as Employer Engagement and Outreach.

Funding from these sources has been essential in enabling Street League to make step changes within the organisation, to be more innovative and help us engage and better support more young people on their journey to employment.

How Trust Funding could help

£20,000 will cover the cost of pitch hire and dance studio hire for four regions over the course or a year, improving the physical health of over 300 young people.

£50,000 would cover the cost of a Progressions Coordinator (who delivers the employability aspects of the Academy) and an Aftercare Coordinator, who will support young people into employment when they complete the Academy

£150,000 would fully cover the cost of a team for a full year who would work with over 92 unemployed young people through our Academy programme where they will gain the skills, qualifications, knowledge and confidence needed to secure sustained employment

If you are a Trust and are interested in how your organisation can support Street League to make an even bigger impact in reducing youth unemployment in the UK, please contact our Head of Grants, Tara Arnold on [email protected] or 07540 723975.

Street League are grateful to receive funding from the following grant giving bodies, whose support has been imperative in helping us to work with unemployed young people living in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the UK.

Comic Relief

Comic Relief have supported Street League almost from our inception. A £1,000,000 grant in 2007 towards core costs meant that we could establish ourselves as a charity in London, Newcastle and Glasgow. When we refocussed our mission in 2010 to focus on young unemployed people securing hard employment outcomes Comic Relief supported us with a grant to establish delivery teams in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Nottingham. In 2015 we were awarded a grant of £211,000 over two years towards our Employer Engagement Team who secure work placements and first job opportunities for young people. We have entertained various Comic Relief funders at Academies across England, and our young people have also appeared in Comic Relief filming and events such as the ‘bums on seats’ challenge with Alan Shearer and Robbie Savage!
