Celebrating Street League’s Corporate Partnerships: Transforming Futures Across The UK

At Street League, we are so lucky to have incredible support from our funding partners. We simply couldn’t be there for the thousands of young people that need our support each year, without the generosity of our corporate partners. We are so proud of the long-standing relationships we have built over the years, including high-profile brands and FSTE 100 companies that support us with funding, volunteering, awareness and pro bono advice.

We currently have seventeen corporate partners supporting our work across the UK, seven of which have been supporting us for over five years and three for over a decade. What’s more, we are really excited to announce the addition of abrdn and Maersk to our corporate partner portfolio and look forward to the impact that their support will have on young people’s futures.

The majority of our corporate partnerships contribute to the running of our Academies across the UK and enhance our programme delivery with regular skills and sports-based volunteering opportunities. This includes CV and cover letter writing workshops, mock interviews, networking and World of Work days. Some of our partners also offer bespoke opportunities based on the specific skillset of their employees as well as paid work placements and jobs for our young people.

We have developed a range of bespoke, strategic partnerships that further our mission to ensure all young people have the opportunity of secure work and a brighter future.  We are, for example, working with the adidas Breaking Barriers project who are committed to helping us be a more inclusive organisation by increasing engagement of female and non-binary young people in our programmes, with the Santander Foundation to increase young people’s financial and digital skills and Standard Chartered to deliver a female empowerment programme to young girls in schools.

One of our longer-term partners, the DHL Foundation has been supporting Street League young people into paid work placements in five major cities across the UK. In 2022, 51 young people took part in a month- long paid work placement at their local DHL depot and 16 subsequently accepted permanent job offers. One young person shared:

‘I would like to thank DHL and Street League for helping me, it’s changed my life for the better. The placement was a great learning experience for me as I am used to working nightshifts. This day shift pattern helped me get into a better routine and I really enjoyed it.’

If your company would like to get involved and develop a partnership that transforms the lives of young people, please contact Georgia.Dessain@streetleague.co.uk for more information.
