Who Says Fundraising Isn’t Fun?

ALMA PR

When Alma PR chose Street League as their charity partner, we could only have imagined the lengths (and heights!) they would go to raise money for our programmes.

On Saturday 8th, October, the Alma PR team of eight set off on their biggest challenge yet - taking on the National 3-Peaks Challenge. This involved climbing the three highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales in 24 hours. That is a total of 36km and over 3000m of climbing, not to mention the journeys between each peak.

Huge congrats for finishing the (windy and wet) challenge and being the only team to successfully climb the 3 peaks in one day! From everyone at Street League, we’d like to say a heartfelt thank you for raising an incredible £7,000 and congratulate you on your outstanding accomplishment.

Your actions play a crucial role in helping young people in the UK create better futures.

TCS VIRTUAL MARATHON RUNNERS

From the mountains of Scotland to the streets of London, four amazing supporters walked, ran, and climbed 26.2 miles each in the TCS Virtual London Marathon 2022 on Sunday 2nd, October.

We congratulate our 2022 marathon participants and sincerely thank them for choosing to raise money for Street League. Together, you raised just over £12,000 to support young people access the skills, qualifications and support they need to move into work or back into education.

Seb, who works for the Gumball 3000 Foundation, ran the TCS Virtual London Marathon and raised over £10,000 for Street League. Here, Seb shares his Virtual London Marathon experience:

‘Running the TCS Virtual London Marathon was a great, personal challenge. I found following a set training plan helpful, and on the days when I lacked motivation, I reminded myself that you never regret a run once it’s finished – especially when running for a good cause.

Choosing to fundraise for Street League was a no-brainer. Street League is a long-standing partner of the Gumball 3000 Foundation, which I manage. I firmly believe that sports can be an immensely effective vehicle for growth and education, and I am aware that Street League achieves just that. I’ve seen first-hand the vital work they deliver and have had the opportunity to meet some incredible young people benefiting from their programmes.

Completing one of the largest marathons in the world felt amazing. It was a real accomplishment, and I’m so happy I participated. Even better knowing I raised over £10k for Street League. I would genuinely recommend the Virtual Marathon to anyone. It’s a great way to complete a marathon in your way and at your own pace.’

If you’re inspired and would like to take on the TCS Virtual London Marathon 2023 in aid of Street League, you can express your interest here.
