Street League partners with Proof Positive

Street League and Proof Positive work in partnership to deliver SQA qualifications online with Eportfolios:

Street League uses the power of sport to tackle poverty and give young people the opportunities they need to succeed in life and the workplace. From school to the world of work, we work with young people aged 14-30, living in the UK’s most disadvantaged communities. Our staff help them overcome their practical and personal barriers to employment.

Since the first lockdown in 2020, Street League have had to adapt to new ways of delivering their SQA qualifications. Realising the need for digital solutions in a variety of situations, they looked to move away from paper qualifications so as not to disadvantage any young people undertaking the programme during and post pandemic.

“Street League is expanding our school delivery next year to include our qualification portfolio. We are excited to be working with Proof Positive to develop what we are currently using to be more streamlined and efficient going forward.”
— Annemarie Smith (Street League’s Trainer, Assessor, Internal Verifier & SQA Co-Ordinator)

In April to June 2021, 9.3% of UK young people (16-24) were not in education, employment or training (NEET). Whether they come from a workless background, are struggling with mental health problems, or simply don’t understand their options, Street League is there to help. Street League combines the power of daily sport and fitness activities with classes that offer CV writing, interview skills, career advice, and qualifications. Its progression services then support individuals in finding sustainable employment, education or training.

Annemarie continues: “Proof Positive has been instrumental in providing us with a platform to allow our learners the opportunity to achieve their qualifications digitally with the use of eportfolios during these challenging times. This was an opportunity for Street League to work with Proof Positive to come up with a collaborative solution to gradually move from paper to a digital platform, taking into account our learners' needs and our Awarding Body requirements. We have received one to one support and regular contact from Proof Positive from inception right through to delivery. Any challenges that arose were dealt with quickly and efficiently. A huge thank you from Street League for your support so far, we’re really excited about the future.”

Over the last 15 years, Street League has offered individuals holistic solutions to their social challenges. Since its origination, Street League has expanded to deliver Academies throughout the UK with over 100 members of staff working across our 13 regional offices.

“Street League is our first customer outside of education, so we were delighted to see how our e-portfolio system and approach to online programme delivery matched exactly what they needed. We’re really excited about the future with the team at Street League who are extremely engaged and committed to their mission of ending youth unemployment. Everything they do aims to support 14-30 year olds to make the transition from school or unemployment into sustainable and fulfilling jobs, while using the power of sport to build positive relationships with young people. We feel honoured to be their e-portfolio partner.”
— Declan McDonough (Founder, Proof Positive)
