what is an academy?
A free 12-week programme for young people to develop their employability skills and upon completion of their qualifications gain support from our team to move into jobs, courses or apprenticeships
Who can join?
Young people aged 16-30 who have the right to work and live in the UK, are able to travel to the hub for a 10-12 week programme, which is delivered 3-4 days throughout the week depending on the academy
What’s included?
Young people can complete qualifications such as Level 1 Developing Self Awareness and Personal Confidence, Level 1 Progressions Award and Level 3 Emergency First Aid in the workplace. Young people in Scotland can complete their SQA qualifications in Customer Service, Personal Development and more!
Daily active sessions led by our sports coaches (multisports sessions such as football, basketball, badminton, table tennis, interactive games and activities)
Employability sessions led by our coaches (CV, cover letter writing, mock interviews, college/apprenticeship/job applications, personal statements
What you get
Skills and personal development sessions led by our coaches (money management, travel breakdowns, motivation workshops, signposting for mental health and financial support, confidence building sessions)
Opportunities to meet with potential employers, inspirational guest speakers, attend world-of-work day visits with our corporate partners
