
functional Skills
A free 12-week programme designed for young people in England to study functional skills, Maths and English, and gain support from our team upon completion of their qualifications to move into jobs, courses or apprenticeships.
Who can join?
Young people aged 16-30 who have the right to work and live in the UK, are able to travel to the hub for a 12 week programme, which is delivered from 9.30am-3pm
Courses run three times a year in January, May and September
What’s included?
Two days of Maths and English classes followed by two days of employability and interpersonal skills development.
Daily active sessions led by our sports coach (football, basketball, badminton, table tennis, interactive games and activities).
Employability sessions led by our coaches (CV, cover letter writing, mock interviews, college/apprenticeship/job applications, personal statements).
Skills and personal development sessions led by our coaches (money management, travel breakdowns, motivation workshops, signposting for mental health and financial support, confidence building sessions)
What you get
Opportunities to meet with potential employers, inspirational guest speakers, world-of-work day visits with our corporate partners.
A young person can gain a qualification in Entry Level 3, Level 1 or Level 2 GCSE equivalent in Maths and English. Plus:

*Learners can have up to 3 exam retakes if needed
