Street League Hosts Inaugural Barratt Games for Good: A Day of Fun and Fundraising

On Friday, 4th April, Street League partnered with Barratt Redrow to launch the inaugural Barratt Games for Good, an exciting day filled with physical and mental challenges that brought together around 300 colleagues across two locations—Leeds and London. The event marked a significant milestone for both organisations, highlighting the power of teamwork and the commitment to supporting young people.

Participants faced off in 13 engaging challenges, including human hamster races, blindfolded LEGO building, and penalty shootouts, all designed to foster friendly competition and teamwork among Barratt Redrow’s staff. The atmosphere was vibrant, filled with laughter, camaraderie, and plenty of sunshine, contributing to an unforgettable day of fun.

The event was honoured by the presence of CEO David Thomas, who opened the London event, and COO Steven Boyes, who kicked things off in Leeds. Both leaders remained throughout the day, cheering on the teams and presenting awards to the top performers and runners-up, showcasing their dedication to corporate responsibility and community engagement.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Barratt Redrow colleagues, the Games for Good initiative raised an impressive £42,000 for Street League. With Barratt Redrow’s commitment to match these contributions, the total donation soared to a remarkable £85,000. These funds will provide essential support for young people, offering them a safe space to get active, learn, and find pathways to employment and a brighter future.

A special highlight of the day was the involvement of 40 young people from Street League, who played a crucial role in running activities and engaging with the participants. Their enthusiasm and energy not only made the event possible but also exemplified the impact that community support can have on the lives of young individuals.

Street League extends a heartfelt thank you to all Barratt Redrow colleagues for their commitment and to everyone who contributed to making this event a tremendous success. The Barratt Games for Good is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when purpose meets action, and it sets an inspiring precedent for future collaborations aimed at uplifting young people in our communities.
